The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition will help Keweenaw County residents find community leaders for the future of the Keweenaw Heartlands. Next Wednesday, KORC will host a candidates forum at Horizons Alternative School in Mohawk.
The meeting will bring together Keweenaw County voters to meet and learn more about potential candidates considering leadership roles on the Keweenaw Heartlands Recreational and Natural Resources Authority Board. KORC has organized the forum so the community can learn more about the individuals that will appear on November ballots for two year and four year terms. KORC does not endorse any individual candidates, and encourages Keweenaw County residents to attend the forum to learn more about the authority board.
The community will vote for directors on the newly formed authority board to manage more than 20,000 acres of public land.
The candidates forum organized by KORC will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
