As warmer weather gets the region to spring into action, the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is preparing to welcome new businesses to Copper Country communities.
In April, the chamber plans to promote its membership drive. This year, the opportunity will offer new members joining the chamber a 20% discount.
The chamber provides the community with more than ribbon-cutting ceremonies and grand openings. Chambers of commerce are gathering places for businesses in the local community, economic leaders, employees and organizations to learn and understand insights of the region’s economic landscape.
Throughout the year, the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce hosts Wake UP Keweenaw and Lunch and Learn sessions that offer presentations on a variety of topics related to marketing, updates from Michigan Technological University, municipalities and major employers in the region. Those events also offer key insight into studies conducted by Visit Keweenaw, the Chamber of Commerce, KEDA and other economic analysts.
The chamber also helps organize and sponsor a range of events and programs in the community, such as helping with the annual Sparkplug Awards, organizing Bridgefest with the local committee and supporting many large events through promotion and marketing expertise.
Those interested in learning more about the benefits of joining the chamber should contact Chamber Manager Katie Schleif with questions. More information is available online.
