The Ishpeming High School girls basketball team will play for a state title. The Hematites edged Morenci 37-34 in their Division Four semifinal yesterday. The Hematites trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half, but narrowed the deficit to two points at halftime. Mya Hemmer made two free throws with 2:48 remaining to put the Hematites up by one, and the Ishpeming defense held the Bulldogs scoreless for the rest of the game. Camby Gauthier’s layup with 34 seconds remaining gave the Hematites a little breathing room. Jenessa Eagle led all scorers with 20 points, and Hemmer added 15. Gauthier’s late insurance shot was the only basket made by any of the other Hematites.
