The most recent rain deluge has forced a narrowing of M-26 south of the Canal Road in Houghton.
Two lanes have been closed because of pavement damage suffered during the storm.
Contractors for the Michigan Department of Transportation are on site to repair a storm sewer that failed, along with a nearby culvert, before repaving.
Crews plan to keep at least one lane open in each direction on M-26 during repairs.
Officials urge you to drive carefully and watch for traffic shifts and possible congestion.
The initial work is expected to take a week or more. MDOT will update the full timeline for repairs as more information becomes available.
