Twilight League
At the annual Leo Durocher Memorial Baseball Tournament last night, Houghton Building Supply-Stanton downed REL-Mohawk Technologies 7-4.

The semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow at 11 and 1:15, with the championship game at 3:30.
MLB
The Tigers suffered an ugly 12-3 loss to the Mariners last night. Tarik Skubal had an off-night, allowing four runs over five innings. The game remained in reach for Detroit until Carlos Hernández and Brant Hurter gave up seven runs in the top of the ninth, while getting just one out. Catcher Jake Rogers closed out the game. Seattle’s Cal Raleigh hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and now has 38 for the season.
The Tigers host the Mariners again this afternoon. Freshly-appointed All-Star Casey Mize will pitch against George Kirby. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Mize became the sixth Tigers All-Star when he was named to replace Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet, who will not be able to pitch.
The Brewers scored six runs in the third inning, and cruised past the Nationals 8-3 last evening. Quinn Priester gave up two runs over six innings, and earned the win. Christian Yelich and Andrew Vaughn homered.
The Brewers entertain the Nationals again this afternoon. Brandon Woodruff will start against Shinnosuke Ogasawara.
Milwaukee gained a second All-Star yesterday, as hard-throwing rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was added to the roster. He’ll fill in for Matthew Boyd of the Cubs. With just five Major League starts under his belt, Misiorowski becomes the fastest player in history to make an All-Star roster.
Aaron Ashby will be away from the Brewers for a few days on the paternity list. Tobias Myers has been called up to fill in.
Frisbee
The 67th annual International Frisbee Tournament will be held today and tomorrow at the Hancock Driving Park. Some of the best guts Frisbee players in the nation will compete, including the local Shottle Bop and Monte Carlo teams. Spectators are welcome, at no charge. A shuttle bus will be running from the Driving Park to the Calumet Colosseum, for those who wish to visit the Frisbee Hall of Fame. A special memorial will be held for Dennis Walikainen, a Hall of Fame player and longtime promoter of the sport, who passed away a month ago.
Running
The annual Run the Keweenaw Trails Fest takes place this weekend, with events in and around Copper Harbor. Events include the 6k Mount Baldy Hillclimb, the Copper Harbor Challenge 10k, the Carl Olson Memorial Adventure Run 25k and the RTK Ultra 50k, along with a non-competitive hike and the 2k Junior Trail Run. Fishing
Today is the early registration deadline for the upcoming Keweenaw Fish Fest. The tournament will be held July 26th, with launches from either the Big Traverse, Lac La Belle, or Eagle Harbor boat ramps. It features around $10,000 in prizes. High School
The Houghton Hockey team will hold a car wash today from 10 until 4 at Sayen’s. Money raised will support team travel expenses.
The Calumet High School baseball team’s returnables drive continues. Drop your contributions at the truck in the parking lot at Pat’s Foods in Calumet. Proceeds will help cover the cost of an early-season team trip to play games in Green Bay.
