Organizes the Great Deer Chase and organizes the Ore to Shore partner to encourage visiting participants to take part in both events.
The Great Deer Chase bike race at the Swedetown trails will take place one week after the Ore to Shore Hard Rock race in August.
Organizers for both events recognize many familiar faces between the events, and encourage participants to consider participating in the 43-mile Ore to Shore and 30-mile Great Deer Chase.
The Great Deer Chase on August 16th will coincide with celebrations in the Calumet area, while the pasty fest takes place on 5th Street. The bike race has typically scheduled the event to take place in the morning, and moves to 5th street and Pasty Fest for the awards ceremony.
Both events in August feature various categories and race distances.
In between Ore to Shore and the Great Deer Chase, organizers suggest visitors check out the region’s many biking trails, bike parks, and other outdoor recreation.
