Houghton county experiences flash flood conditions early in the morning of the summer solstice. Between 4am and 6am the Rational Weather Service recorded close to two and half inches of rainfall in the Houghton and Hancock area. The Rainfall and rush of water did damage some road ways in the region. The Houghton County sheriff has received reports of damage on Bridge Street traveling north. Other roads impacted by the flash flood conditions include Massie Road, Paradise Road, and US 41 in Denton.
