Taylor Swift officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential election, just minutes after last night’s debate concluded. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she wrote to her 280 million followers. “I’ve done my research, and I made my choice.” The pop icon also gave a nod to Harris’ VP pick, Tim Walz, “who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.” Her post was signed “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.” The endorsement is expected to help boost enthusiasm among young Democrats, a group that turned out to be a powerful voting bloc for President Biden in 2020.
