The Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, honoring television’s biggest stars. The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach won lead and supporting actor in a comedy, while Hacks star Jean Smart won lead actress in a comedy. Hacks itself then shocked the crowd by winning outstanding comedy over The Bear. Nonetheless, The Bear broke its own previous record of 10 comedy wins for a single season by picking up 11 last night. Netflix’s Baby Reindeer won best limited series, while creator Richard Gadd won for lead actor and writing. Jodie Foster picked up her first career Emmy for starring in True Detective: Night Country. FX’s hit Shogun also had a big night, taking home outstanding drama, lead actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, actress for Anna Sawai and directing for Frederick E.O. Toye. (Variety)
