October is breast cancer awareness month and Aspirus Health is encouraging women across the Copper Country to schedule regular mammograms to detect breast cancer early on while taking advantage of newly expanded mammography services across the UP. This expansion comes during a push to increase accessibility to the life-saving service to women across the greater region.
Unfortunately, breast cancer remains one of the leading cancers that presents itself in women, but treatment outcomes can be drastically improved if detected early with a mammogram.
“Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against breast cancer,” said Natalie Seaber, Michigan Region President for Aspirus. “By offering expanded and flexible appointment availability at several Upper Peninsula locations, we are helping women prioritize their health and remove barriers that may prevent them from scheduling routine screenings.”
If you’d like to schedule a mammogram with Aspirus, interested patients can call Aspirus Central Scheduling at 715-847-2550, visit aspirus.org, or use the MyAspirus app if eligible based on the timing of their previous screening.
