As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches in October, Aspirus Health is hosting a community education event to help residents understand their risk factors and screening options.
The “Talk with a Doc” event takes place Sept. 29 at the new Aspirus Houghton clinic, featuring Dr. Zuhair Ghanem, who will discuss early screening, diagnosis steps, risk factors and the latest treatment options available to patients.
Dr. Ghanem emphasized the importance of proactive health management.
“Early detection gives us the best opportunity for successful treatment and improved outcomes,” Dr. Ghanem said. “Breast cancer can affect anyone, which is why understanding your risk factors and staying current with recommended screenings is important.”
Breast cancer affects both women and men, making community awareness and education critical for early detection and treatment success.
The presentation begins at 6 p.m. and includes light refreshments. The event is free, but attendees must register before the event.
