Kaleidoscope Hancock will be hosting STEAM Saturday on August 22 on the fourth floor of the Hancock Community Hub, located in the former Finlandia Hirvonen Hall. The free event is aimed at children and will explore STEAM, an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, through hands-on activities like “All Things Clay” and “Lava Bubble Painting.”
“Coming to STEAM Saturday, if you’re not familiar with Kaleidoscope, is a really good way to see our space and meet some of our instructors,” remarks Sheri Warner, Kaleidoscope Hancock Coordinator, “because, as we know, the school year is starting, and we have a bunch of new after-school programming along with our regular programming.”
Kaleidoscope is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote education in school-aged children through active learning by providing holistic support and unique educational programs and scholarships.
