Jackson Jobe returned to the Tigers with a vengeance yesterday, after spending 14 months rehabbing from Tommy John ligament replacement surgery. Jobe tossed five scoreless innings, giving up just one hit, as Detroit routed the Giants 8-0 on Saturday. Spencer Torkelson drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a run and break a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth. The Tigers erupted for six runs in the seventh, powered by doubles from Dillon Dingler and Eduardo Valencia and a triple by Max Clark.
The Tigers conclude that series in San Francisco today. Troy Melton will face Logan Webb. Coverage will begin at 3:40 on 99.3 The Lift.
Brice Turang had three hits and drove in two runs as the Brewers shaded the Twins 4-3. Robert Gasser struggled into the fifth inning, giving up seven hits and all three Minnesota runs. Aaron Ashby got the win in relief when Andrew Vaughn singled home Brandon Lickridge with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Trevor Megill earned his 21st save.
The Brewers host the Twins again today. Jacob Misiorowski will start against Connor Prielipp.
Milwaukee has brought pitcher Lyon Richardson up from Nashville. Bryse Wilson was designated for assignment to make room on the roster.
