NHL
The Red Wings will forego their visit to Traverse City for training camp this fall. The tradition was started by coach Scotty Bowman in 1997. The decision was made after the NHL shortened its preseason schedule from eight exhibition games to four, and added two games to its regular season. The Wings will hold their training camp at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit.
