Across the Copper Country, visitors and residents enjoy discovering old stories and the region’s history.
Throughout the region, community organizations operate local history museums. Many also visit heritage sites at the Keweenaw National Historical Park, enjoy cruises to Isle Royale or stop by the Carnegie Museum in Houghton for traveling exhibits.
As summer warms the region, many museums will begin to open.
Saturday, the Copper Range Historical Museum in South Range will host an annual open house from noon to 3 p.m. The event will include a special presentation from Lucy Grantroth with Copper Thread Genealogy & Research.
