Houghton County’s fair might not return until August, but Copper Shores will bring a little fair fun to the Copper Country this weekend.
On Saturday, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation hosts the annual Family Fun Fair at the Calumet Colosseum. The event will have fun activities for kids, while parents and the community check out resources available in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
“Either it’s mental health related or substance use related. And so it’s really that focus on how do I take care of my mental well-being and my physical well-being as well. And that’s what we really try to strive for. And it’s also community building, because these are local resources that want to contribute to making our society a safer and more comfortable place for everyone,” said Callisto Cortez, a Copper Shores representative.
The Family Fun Resource Fair is brought to the Keweenaw Peninsula in partnership with Keweenaw Support for Healthy Minds. The event is free and open to the public. Take part in games and activities, earn door prizes and learn more about community resources and organizations working in the Copper Country.
The Family Fun Fair with Copper Shores Outreach and Keweenaw Support for Healthy Minds will begin at noon on Saturday.
