Bridgefest fireworks will have a new launch point this year after the Hancock City Council approved an application from the Bridgefest organizing committee in April.
The plan will have the display launch from a barge in the Portage Canal, creating a fresh perspective for the beloved annual celebration. This change will affect boat traffic on the canal during the fireworks display, as the crew will establish a strict no-wake zone around the barge for safety.
IncredibleBank will return as the Jon Davis Memorial Fireworks sponsor, continuing their support of the community tradition.
Bridgefest will return to the Houghton and Hancock area between June 11 and 14. The fireworks display will occur on Saturday, June 14.
The new barge location promises to offer spectators a unique viewing experience while maintaining the spectacular show that has become a highlight of the annual festival. The change reflects organizers’ commitment to enhancing the celebration while ensuring safety for all participants.
Those interested can find more information about Bridgefest, including vendor, sponsor and volunteer opportunities, online.
