Margaret Holley Chapman earned her bachelor’s degree from the Michigan College of Mines in 1933. Marian Smitty Scott became the editor of Design News after she was the first woman to earn a chemical engineering degree from Michigan Tech. And Dr. Kaitlyn Bunker has earned recognition for her work in renewable energy.
Women can do anything, including coding.
Next week, Michigan Tech’s Women in Computer Sciences hosts the Kids Coding Clinic at Rekhi Hall. The learning opportunity is open to all students in the Copper Country interested in information technology and computer science.
During the program, students will learn about what coding is and test out an interactive challenge with Michigan Tech students.
The program will begin at noon on April 11 in Rekhi Hall rooms 112 and 113. Organizers ask participants to register for the Kids Coding Clinic by emailing the Women in Computing Sciences organization.
