In the opening round between Sunday and Monday, earlier this week, CCHS raised more than $500 to advance in the tournament-style competition.
The competition works like a sports bracket, with shelters paired against each other in head-to-head matchups. Each dollar donated during the specific timeframe counts as one “point” toward a shelter’s total in the matchup. The shelter that raises more money advances to the next round, while donation totals reset for each new matchup. In the first round of Mutt Madness CCHS faces off against the Beaver County Humane Society in Pennsylvania.
CCHS will compete in its next round with donations accepted between March 5 at 11 a.m. and March 7 at 11 p.m. If the shelter raises more than its opponent, it advances. If not, CCHS will still keep all donations raised during its time in the competition.
The shelter will post the donation link on its social media pages when it becomes available. More information about Mutt Madness is available online here.
