High School
The high school volleyball tournament opens tonight with a handful of district play-in games.
In Division Four, District 98:
- Baraga plays at Chassell at 6:00. The winner will play at Hancock on Wednesday.
- L’Anse plays at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City at 6:00. The winner will play at Lake Linden-Hubbell on Wednesday.
In Division Four, District 97 at Forest Park:
- Ewen-Trout Creek plays Bessemer at 5:00. The winner will face Forest Park on Wednesday.
- Ontonagon faces Watersmeet at 6:30. The winner will take on Wakefield-Marenisco on Wednesday.
In Division Three, District 65:
- Ishpeming plays at Ironwood. The winner will face Jeffers on Wednesday. Calumet will host West Iron County in Wednesday’s other district semifinal, with coverage at 5:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
In Division Two, District 33:
- Gladstone plays at Escanaba. The winner will play Negaunee on Wednesday. Houghton will host Kingsford in Wednesday’s other district semifinal, with coverage at 5:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.

College Soccer
The MTU women’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Roosevelt yesterday.
Kenna Alexander scored the game’s only goal, as the NMU women’s soccer team shaded Parkside 1-0 yesterday.
Luca Rosen’s hat trick powered the NMU men’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Purdue Northwest yesterday.
College Basketball
The 13th-ranked Michigan Tech men’s basketball team outlasted 19th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne 66-65 in overtime yesterday at the Small College Basketball Classic in Lakeland, Florida. Marcus Tomashek scored 33.
NHL
The Red Wings pulled out a 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks last night. Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Larkin scored during regulation, and James van Riemsdyk netted the only goal during the shootout. Cam Talbot made 16 saves.
The Wings visit the Golden Knights tomorrow. Coverage begins at 9:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons visit the Grizzlies tonight.
The Bucks play at Indiana this evening.
NFL
The Vikings upended the Lions 27-24 yesterday. Jared Goff and J.J. McCarthy each threw two touchdown passes.
The Panthers stunned the Packers 16-13. Ryan Fitzgerald’s 49-yard field goal as time expired gave Carolina the win.
The Seahawks buried the Commanders 38-14 last night.
Tonight, the Cardinals visit the Cowboys. Coverage will begin at 7:30 on 99.3 The Lift.
