Lake Linden-Hubbell was named Team of the Year, as the All-Copper Mountain Conference volleyball awards were released yesterday.
Ashlyn Steves of the Lakes was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Jocelyn Perala Coach of the Year. Noelle Grace from Wakefield-Marenisco was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player.
Local players joining Steves on the Elite Team include Lake Linden’s Cleo Milkey, Kiera Isaacson from Dollar Bay-Tamarack City, Elisa Delene from Baraga, and Emma Besonen from Ewen-Trout Creek.
Local players added to the Copper Country Division First Team include Sophie DesRochers and Mya Hendrickson from Baraga, and Payton Goldsworthy from Lake Linden-Hubbell.
The Copper Country Division Second Team includes Elli Kuntze and Oriana Olson from Chassell, Laila Bell and Sophie Berryman from Dollar Bay-Tamarack City, Kwynn Voskuhl from L’Anse, and Cora Connor from Baraga, with honorable mention votes for Emily Burnham from Lake Linden, Sylvie Kentala from Dollar Bay and Breyelle Bowers from L’Anse.
Bree Besonen from Ewen-Trout Creek joined Emma on the Porcupine Mountains First Team. Peyton Hardes from the Panthers was included on the Second Team, with honorable mention votes for Ewen’s McKayla Basel.
