The City of Houghton hires a new Community and Business Development Manager. Earlier in the year former CBD Manager Amy Zawada was elevated to the position of city clerk, following Ann Volrath’s retirement in the spring.
Taking on Zawada’s former duties, Danielle Perkowitz, is excited to step into the city center and work with businesses, and community organizations. Perkowitz is an entrepreneur, with a passion for local growth, and is the owner of Big Goat Farm in Houghton. She hopes to bring her enthusiasm to the city’s administrative team and work closely on initiative to strengthen Houghton’s economic vitality, cultural landscape, and ensure residents and visitors feel the heartbeat of a city on the rise. City Manager Eirc Waara says the team is excited to add Danielle, and to add someone dedicated to managing events local projects, and initiatives.
