Happy Halloween.
While the community has had a couple great chances to trick or treat already. Nothing makes memories quite like trick or treating with the family and friends on Halloween night. Police and first responders will be out in the community to provide public safety services. Parents and trick or treaters can also travel in groups, stay visible and in sight of parents and chaperons, and never go inside someone’s home when trick or treating.
Michigan State Police also suggest parents plan out tonight’s route, and know where you are going, inspect all candy when you return home. Adding to look out for unusual packaging or signs of tampering such as resealed wrappers or small tears. This also includes looking out for items that may contain THC, some marijuana packaging can resemble normal food, drink or snack packaging.
Most trick or treating throughout communities will begin at 5 pm and last until 8pm. Dusk this evening will begin at 7:11 pm. Throughout the Copper Country this evening several churches and community organizations have also organized trunk or treating events. An event in Ontonagon will begin at 3pm, Laurium leaders will pass out candy at the Gipp Arena at 5pm, and The Bluffs hosts trick or treating at 5;30 pm.
