More than 50 non-profit organizations will join Copper Shores Community Health Foundation on December 2nd during Giving Tuesday. Each year the annual fundraiser, organized by copper shores, raises money to support organizations across the copper country that impact the region’s health in some way. The day of giving in 2024 raised more than 1 million dollars for the region. Marketing and donor relations director Michael Babcock says it’s an exciting time of the year. When the entire non-profit community works hard to support one another and the community.
And in total through eight years, we’ve put more than $4.7 million into these nonprofits, which again helps them do everything that they need to do. And so we’re, really proud of that. We’re really excited about the money impact. This is all that, but it’s also made a huge impact on the culture of our community. We feel like the, the idea of giving the idea of generosity is just a lot more prevalent in our community now because of this campaign than it was before. And that’s something we want to keep happening. We want to keep. Having people realize that there’s opportunities to give back to these organizations. – Michael Babcock, Donor Relations Director, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation

The Giving Tuesday donation portal will open in mid-November. Just like prior years, Copper Shores Giving Tuesday will include a matching aspect. The Foundation has set aside 200,000 dollars that will match individual and group donations to amplify the impact the fundraiser has. Each organization will receive an amount equal to the percentage of total donations the organization accounts for during Giving Tuesday in 2025.
Funds raised through Giving Tuesday additionally become unrestricted when dispersed to the non-profit organization. Allowing a non-profit the ability to put funds toward programming, services, operations, projects and more that often are not funded by grant dollars or traditional funding sources. Non-profits throughout the Copper Country say this has become a crucial part of Giving Tuesday, allowing their leadership and board of directors to make decisions on how money is used to help the community.
