High School
In high school volleyball last night…
- Calumet cruised past Westwood 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-13).
- Hancock got past Ishpeming 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-19).
- Lake Linden-Hubbell dropped the first two sets, then came back to defeat Baraga 3-2 (16-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 17-15). For the Lakes, Cleo Milkey had 13 kills. Payton Goldsworthy had 8 kills, 9 aces and 28 assists. Ashlyn Steves had 20 digs and 7 aces.
- Dollar Bay-Tamarack City dispatched L’Anse 3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-16). Kiera Isaacson had 22 kills and 9 digs for the Blue Bolts. Sophie Berryman added 5 kills, Sylvie Kentala had 25 assists and 7 digs, and Kallie Heinonen had 13 digs.
- Jeffers dropped a tight 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 13-25, 25-20, 15-9) battle to Negaunee. Mia Nordstrom had 15 kills, 6 aces and 6 blocks for the Jets. Montanna Heinonen and Taylee Rajala each added 6 kills. Kylee Andrews had 16 digs, and Elizabeth Halonen had 15 assists.
- Chassell wiped out Ironwood 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-10). Sylvia Aho had 14 aces, 13 assists, 1 kill and 4 digs for the Panthers. Oriana Olson had 9 kills, 3 blocks, 6 digs and 1 ace. Elli Kuntze had 5 kills, 9 aces, and 7 digs. Dusty Lippold had 5 kills, 2 aces and 3 digs.
- Ewen-Trout Creek smothered Watersmeet 3-0 (25-5, 25-7, 25-8).

College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team heads to Fairbanks for games against the University of Alaska tonight and tomorrow.
The Northern Michigan hockey squad hosts 19th-ranked Colorado College tonight and tomorrow.

Both the Tech and Northern volleyball teams are in Hammond, Indiana for the Midwest Regional Crossover…
- The Huskies will play Indianapolis today at 12:30, and Ohio Dominican tonight at 5:30.
- The Wildcats will play Findlay today at 12:30, and Quincy this evening at 5:30.
College Football
The Tech football team hosts top-ranked Ferris State tomorrow at noon.
Northern football plays at Roosevelt in Chicago tomorrow.
MLB
The Brewers are in a hole, following last night’s 3-1 loss to the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Jake Bauers singled home Caleb Durbin with the Crew’s only run in the second inning – one of just five hits Milwaukee collected. The Brewers trail the Dodgers 3-0, with game four of the series set for tonight in Los Angeles.
The Blue Jays blasted the Mariners 8-2 last night, and evened up the American League Championship Series at 2-2. Game five will be staged tonight in Seattle.
NHL
The Red Wings have won three straight, and host the Lightning this evening. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons wrapped up their preseason schedule with a 119-98 victory over the Wizards last night. Jalen Duren scored 20 points. Listen for selected Pistons broadcasts again this season on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit will start the season without guard Jaden Ivey. He underwent knee surgery, and will be out for about a month.
The Bucks and guard A.J. Green have agred to a four-year, $45 million contract extension.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the Bengals outfought the Steelers 33-31. Evan McPherson’s 36-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining was the game-winner.
The Packers visit the Cardinals for a 4:25 game on Sunday.
The Lions host the Buccaneers in the first of two Sunday night contests. Coverage will begin at 6:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
