One man dies in a motorcycle accident on the covered road in Grant Township.
On Monday the Keweenaw County Sheriff Office responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident new the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge on US –41 close to noon. Officials determined the victim, a 68-year-old man from White Plains, Kentucky, was traveling north bound on US –41 when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and collided with a guardrail. The man was riding the motorcycle alone and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identification of the victim has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Keweenaw County Sheriff was assisted by the Copper Harbor Fire and First Responders, Mercy Ambulance, and the Keweenaw County Medical Examiner.
