Tarik Skubal tossed seven strong innings, as the Tigers blanked the Royals 5-0 Sunday. Skubal allowed just four hits. Detroit broke the game open with four runs in the fifth inning, powered by a Jake Rogers triple, a Colt Keith double, and a Gleyber Torres single.
The Tigers host the Mets this afternoon. Charlie Morton will start against Sean Manaea. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers fell to the Blue Jays 8-4 Sunday. Brandon Woodruff was charged with all eight Toronto runs, although only five were earned. He left in the fifth inning, having given up 10 hits. William Contreras and Brice Turang homered for the Crew, and Jackson Chourio had four hits.
The Brewers welcome the Phillies this afternoon. Jacob Misiorowski will pitch against Taijuan Walker.
