There’ll be a lengthy traffic slowdown on M-26 in Houghton beginning Monday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to continue repairs to a culvert south of the Canal Road intersection that was damaged by excessive storm runoff in early July.
Contractors will be re-lining and partially replacing the damaged culvert, and performing concrete paving and curb work. The project is expected to be completed in about six weeks.
Motorists should expect lane closures with traffic shifts. Crews plan to keep at least one lane open in each direction on M-26 during repairs.
