A local bed and breakfast has received a notable national honor.
The Laurium Manor Inn was voted the number-one Historical Bed and Breakfast in the United States by Newsweek Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
The 45-room mansion was built in 1908 by mining magnates Thomas and Cornelia Hoatson.
It’s been owned and operated as a B and B for the past three decades by Julie and Dave Sprenger, and is a Keweenaw National Historical Park Heritage Site.
