The Tigers cashed in early, and cruised past the Astros 7-2 yesterday. Six of those runs came in the first inning, with help from a Spencer Torkelson double, a Dillon Dingler triple, and two wild pitches by Houston’s Framber Valdez, each of which allowed a run to score. Charlie Morton gave up two runs over six innings to earn the win.
The Tigers have won 10 of their last 13 games. They’ll take today off, and entertain the Royals tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers dropped their third straight game, 4-3 to the Cubs last evening. Chicago scored three in the third inning on Michael Busch’s bases-loaded double off Jacob Misiorowski. Brice Turang had three of Milwaukee’s six hits.

After he struggled in his spot start Tuesday, the Brewers returned Chad Patrick to the Sounds. Tobias Myers has also been sent back down, and Carlos Rodriguez has been called up.
