MLB
The Tigers suffered their second straight loss to the Rays Saturday, falling 8-3. The Brewers continue that series in Minnesota today. Quinn Priester will start against David Festa.
If it weren’t for bad luck, he’d have no luck at all. Milwaukee outfielder Garrett Mitchell, who’s been out for nearly two months because of a sore oblique, dove back to first base to escape a pickoff throw in a rehab appearance with the Sounds Friday, and injured his shoulder. He’ll be examined this week, once the swelling goes down.
NBA
The Thunder will host the Pacers in game seven of the NBA Championship Series tonight.
Wing Pat Connaughton will apparently stay with the Bucks next season. Numerous reports indicate that he has picked up his contract option for the 2025-26 season. It’s worth $9.4 million.
High School
Team Black clobbered Team Red 56-7 at the U.P. All-Star football game Saturday at the Superior Dome. Austin Gordon from Ontonogan-Ewen-Trout Creek threw a touchdown pass for Team Black, and Caden Besonen caught a long TD strike.
