Tarik Skubal struck out 12, as the Tigers edged the Rangers 2-1 last evening. The Tigers’ ace gave up a run on two hits over seven innings to get the win. Detroit collected just three hits, but made them count. Dillon Dingler doubled home Colt Keith in the second inning, and Keith’s single scored Riley Greene in the fourth.
The Tigers have won five straight, and host the Rangers again tonight. Jack Flaherty will pitch against Jacob deGrom. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit activated reliever John Brebbia from the injured list yesterday. Starter Keider Montero and outfielder Brewer Hicklen were sent down to Toledo.
The Brewers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Rays last evening. Jared Koenig walked in Tampa Bays winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Jackson Chourio had three hits.
The Brewers play at Tampa Bay again this afternoon. Tobias Myers will start against Taj Bradley.
Milwaukee called infielder Andruw Monasterio and pitcher Bryan Hudson up from Nashville yesterday. Infielder Vinny Capra was designated for assignment. If he clears waivers, he could be assigned to the Sounds.

- The Cavaliers stopped the Pacers 126-104. Indiana leads that Eastern Conference series 2-1.
- The Nuggets pulled away from the Thunder 113-104 in overtime. Denver takes a 2-1 lead in that Western Conference series.

- The Warriors host the Timberwolves. That set is tied 1-1.
